| 1841 England Census with Joseph Jury? Status: Located; This is a census that records the workers at the Taunton Union Workhouse. Taunton is near to Halse, and it isn't unlikely that Joseph went to work to support himself, his grandmother, and step-grandfather. The age and birthplace are right, so it is quite possible he was the right Joseph James.

| 1851 England Census with Joseph James Status: Located; This census shows Joseph living with his grandmother and step-relatives. It says he was born at Halse and was a farm labourer at the time. Ancestry.com listed him as Joseph Jerry James, but I think it is pretty ovious that it is Joseph Jury James.
