His son William's obituary states:
"Departed this life at his residence near Dundas in this county, on the 24th day of April 1885, after a protracted illness, Rev. William Trainer in the 77th year of his life. The deceased had been a resident of Richland County for more than 30 yrs, was a minister of the regular Baptist Church for 46 yrs, was a native of Hart Co., KY. He was married to his first wife, Nancy McDowell, probably as early as his 18th yr, by whom he had eight children, five of whom are now living. His 2nd wife was Minerva Crow, by whom he had five children. She with two of her children survive the deceased. His father was William Trainer of the state of Maryland, of Irish extraction, moving from Maryland to Kentucky at an early age. The subject of this sketch was an honest and upright man endeavoring at all times to favor the right." (Richland County,IL "Olney Times"; 6 May 1885) | Family (F475)

Owned and resided at "Home House," in Springfield, Delaware county. The main part of the present building was erected by him in 1722. His will was admitted to probate 24 Nov 1760. From it we abstract the following:
"Item, My will is that my Plantation shall be devided by a line to begin at a corner stone standing at the end of the Lower Meadow by water Course, so up the fence to the Ditch and from thence straight up the Meadow to a white oak and sassafrax standing near the Ditch and from thence across the Meadow to where the water Course comes out of the field and from thence up the fence to the upper end of the Meadow, from thence along the road to a spanish oak standing near the Spring house and from thence up by the west end of the Little orchard to the line between me and cousin Joseph Maris.
Item, I give and bequeath the west end of the Land that hath on Bulidings unto my son Isaac Maris his heirs and assigns forever.
Item, I give and Bequeath to my son Jehu Maris the other end of the plantation, next to Darby Creek with all the Buildings and Improvements to him his heirs and assigns forever, he allowing his Mother Privilege of two rooms in the house, the Lower Room next the orchard, and the upper Room at the right hand of the head of the stairs, and the privilege of the Kitchen, Cellar, and Oven and Draw well and Spring house for her necessary use, and ground for a garden Before the Door and apples for her use out of theorchard and to keep her one horse and one cow winter and summer and cut fire wood and Bring unto the house for her as much as is necessary for her use and privilege," &c. | Maris, George (I2184)
