"There was a small settlement of Welsh immigrants midway between Three Mile Creek and Brigham City. Among the first settlers of the area were Benjamin Jones, Kidwalendar Owens, David Peters, Thomas Mathias, and John Roberts. They chose to meet with those living in Box Elder until 1868 when the two communities joined together and organized a Sunday School."
- Benjamin Jones Will
Probate No. 484
Wishes of Benjamin Jones, of Willard, Box Elder Co. Utah. He being very sick and the age of 77 years upwards. Made known on the 21st day of July A.D. 1891.
I Benjamin Jones, having deferred making my wishes known until this late date, desire to do the best I can now.
I wish my house and the two lots fronting on main street in Willard, to be placed under the care of Mary Jones, my wife, as long as she shall live to use but not to sell.
I wish further that my single daughters Eliza Jones and Rose Hannah Jones shall each have one lot lying east and adjoining the beforementioned two lots, Eliza to have her choice and Rose Hannah to take the other; that they may have a place where they can make a home if they so desire, but not to sell or otherwise dispose of.
I further desire that Mary, my wife, shall retain one cow. The remaining real estate, horses, cattle and other personal property belonging to me, to be divided equally among all the members of my family.
At the death of my wife I desire that sufficient of what is now awarded her shall be used to defray necessary expense and the remainder shall be divided in wisdom among the surviving members of my family.
I hereby appoint my daughter Mary Harding and Thos. W. Brewerton of this place executors of this, my Will, and charge them to impartially guard the right and interests of each member of my family.
In witness whereof I have here unto signed my name this 21st day of July A.D. 1891.
